We stayed for a Mini Meets West event last week. We had a great
time and the hotel and staff went out of their way to make sure
everything was terrific! The rooms were elegantly decorated with
a very luxurious bed and appointments. The restaurant and bar staff
were very friendly and did their best to please the guests.

The Cal Neva turned out to be a surprise highlight of our trip to
Tahoe. Based on some negative comments on this board we were wary
booking it but it was too funky to pass up. If you are expecting
Vegas glamour and glitz you will be disappointed. But if you are
looking for a blast from the past...
“Great Views, Reasonable Rates,
Friendly & Nostalgic” 4 of 5 stars
I stayed at the Cal-Neva Hotel several times this winter (Jan -
Apr) while skiing at NorhStar and enjoyed every stay. Room rates
were extremely reasonable The hotel emphasizes it's "glory
days" when Frank Sinatra owned it in the '60s and there are
videos, pictures of that era throughout the hotel. The background
music throughout the hotel is all Sinatra...
“Close to Northstar, and cheap

W e snowboard at Northstar, and usually stay in Reno. we took a
chance on this place, after finding a really cheap rate, and reading
the reviews. ok, so, it's not the most modern place, nor is it the
most glamorous. it doesn't have a full casino (although it has a
few slot machines). it's got a great vintage-y feel.

We arrived here to spend a couple of nights befor heading to Las Vegas - we never did get to Vegas. The hotel is in beautiful surroundings, on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. Wonderful amenities, staff couldn't be more helpful, and no chance of running out of things to do in the area.
Tahoe Biltmore Lodge and Casino

I stayed there this weekend with my husband and son as part of a
group that was there for a bike-a-thon. The rooms definitely vary
in terms of "niceness". I moved rooms twice (not due to decor, but
due to logistics with the group we were staying with) and all the
rooms were very nice...

MontBleu is definitely an older hotel but I felt like it was clean
and the remodeling of the casino and lobby were great. Especially
good deals on cocktails with 24/7 happy hour and a nice fun atmosphere.
The room could use updated decor but everything was clean. I nice
addition of the whirlpool hotub in the room...

I've stayed here just about every year for the past 8 years. I usually
book Harvey's for most of my stay due to its proximity to the Heavenly
gondola and then come to Montbleu for a few days to enjoy the pool
and jacuzzi. Montbleu's rooms are spacious and clean, but the furniture
hasn't changed since the days when it was Caesar's.

Mother/daughter ski weekend!!! I travel a lot. Booked at MontBleu
and were so surprised at how wonderful this hotel was. Great value
for your money. We were greeted by John Johnson, the mgr at the
frontdesk. He was so nice, got us checked in to a wonderful room
with 2 queen size beds, corner room, big bathroom...

We stopped over at Lake Tahoe having been to Las Vegas and it was
an okay experience. The staff on the front desk looked very depressed
which did dampen our mood. We were upgraded to a spa room on a higher
floor after we discovered our original rooms' toilet was broken,
so that was nice. The spa was great. Decent...

Harvey's room was very comfortable and clean. The only thing that we would have liked that they didn't have was a safe in the room. We always took our valuables with us when we left the room for the day. The Lake Tahoe area is beautiful and there is a lot to explore there, but I would not go there just for the casino.

My husband and I stayed here recently. Beautiful view of the lake and good service, but the hotel lacks a lot "extras" that other hotels offer. No complimentary coffee in the rooms, no fridge and the ice-maker down the hall was out of service. Not a huge deal, but it could have been better.

The room was just what we expected and the price was right. My husband enjoyed the $12.95 prime rib dinner on Saturday night. The casino was very empty compared to Harolds and Harvey's. Playing penny machines still enabled us to come home with more money than we started out with.

“Good experience.” 5 of 5 stars
Stayed one night. Complimentary room upgrade without asking. Room was clean. Bed comfy. Two bathrooms was a treat. Watch out for mini-bar fees. Bottled water and coffee maker are charged to your room if you use them. No free wifi. We are not big gamblers so casino was a short diversion. Would stay again.
