You will be swept up by the scenic lake and mountain vistas and carefully manicured fairways and greens. Since Edgewood is Lake Tahoe's most popular course, it is the most difficult for getting tee times.

Bijou Municipal Golf Course, South Lake Tahoe, CA

There are five par 4s and four par 3s, and Bijou Creek provides water hazards and five holes until midsummer. Pine trees line many of the holes, and there are vistas of Freel Peak and Heavenly Ski Area. In general, the greens are small and include many tricky undulations.

Lake Tahoe Golf Course, South Lake Tahoe, CA

Course Information Owned by the California Department of Parks and Recreation, this course has a spacious clubhouse and can provide challenges. There are potential water hazards on 16 holes, including sections of the Upper Truckee River, although there are enough straightaway fairways to make up for the double bogeys. The course has a lot of diversity, including a scenic wetland with pines and aspens, and a huge rocky bluff behind the 10th that is unique in the Tahoe region.

Tahoe Paradise Golf Course, Meyers, CA

Course Information Situated on a south facing hill, the Tahoe Paradise Golf Course includes very tight narrow fairways through pine thickets, although what you can see from Hwy 50 looks easy. There are 12 par 4s and six par 3s, with two holes having water hazards. The top handicap hole is the ninth (377 yards, par 4, which requires a tee shot through a gap no wider than 50 yards, down to a large landing area and green that is bunkered on the right. As a rule, hitting behind most of the holes at Tahoe Paradise means losing your ball. The signature hole is the 14th (110 yards, par 3), which has a pond in front plus a view of Mount Tallac and the surrounding peaks. In general, Tahoe Paradise has modest facilities and fair maintenance, but with its short yardage, it seems like an executive.
